As a sophomore and the ignitor/editor of Spark, I am by turns enjoying and enduring high school. I love an abundance of things, including writing and reading (my favorite book by far is The Adventures of Tom Sawyer). I hope that Spark can provide the same creative space for other students at JHHS as it has for me!
Rivkah Bar-or, born on July 31, 2001, is one of the greatest writers of the twenty-first century. She is known as being the first writer to begin typing in the womb, and the first woman on the sun. It is often said that America “invented” democracy. Well, Rivkah Bar-or has invented so much more—including, but not limited to, the “Larry Potter” book series, religion, ramen, and the spork.
I’m a sophomore this year and enjoy participating in Spark and multiple other clubs. I’m involved in speech and debate, rotary club, and key club. I love to ski and bike. This year I am writing articles on the current events. Spark gives each student a voice or a place to express their talents.I’m looking forward to the rest of sophomore year and the years to come.
Hi, my name is Antonina Profatilova. I am junior at Jackson Hole High School. For Spark, I write food reviews. I love to eat and write about the food I eat. Outside of school, I keep myself busy with skiing, running on the cross-country team, cooking and reading.
As a sophomore, being involved in fun clubs is really important to me. Spark is a great opportunity for me to socialize with amazing people and to be able to easily express who I am and what I can do as an aspiring artist. I am also involved with the GSA club and I run Cross Country in the fall. I look forward to being a member of Spark throughout high school!
Sophomore year has started off well. I am looking forward to participating in Spark again! For Spark, I have enjoyed creating some quizzes for readers to take in the past, and look forward to new ideas this year! I participate in cross-country running, basketball, and soccer, as well as a couple other school related clubs!
I have always been a student athlete, and am still learning to juggle school and sports, as I compete in Cross Country, soccer, and alpine skiing. I thought Spark would be the perfect opportunity to be more involved in my school and the community, as well as being a busy athlete. When coming to the high school, I was very surprised there was not a school newspaper, having the very involved student body in our school. I am very excited to be involved in, and learn about our school and my peers, and excited to see the talent in art and writing that JHHS holds.
